Have you ever heard of Wandering Wheels?

Have you ever heard of Wandering Wheels?

Last Saturday, my daughter called me from her cell phone and told me that there were 3 Kymco on the road near our shop.  At the stop light Candace (my daughter) invited them to our shop.  One of the scooter riders needed some accessories for her Kymco.  Once they were in my shop I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting 3 of the most phenomenal and incredible ladies that Iâ?™ve ever met.

They explained to me that they were doing a Coast-to-Coast ride starting in Santa Monica that will be ending in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Iâ?™ve heard of many people riding or attempting to ride from Coast to Coast.  Many of these rides are unsuccessful.   We (AllPro Powersports) even sponsored a rider in the past.

I know from personal experience that making this type of trip is not easy.  It requires a lot of preparation both physical, mentally and even logistics, where are we staying, how many miles are we riding per day, etc.  With that being said, what makes these 3 ladies so special?

Meet Sally Jones of Tampa Florida, at 80 years young she is one of the riders.  Her ride a 2006 Kymco Vitaly 50.

Meet Darleene Zeigler of Denver Colorado.  Darleene is 76 and also one of the 3 riders that visited our store. Her choice a Kymco People 50.

Last but not least, meet Janech Davenport, from Upland, Indiana; she is the organizer, mechanic and the leader of the pack.  Her ride of choice a Kymco Super9

These 3 incredible women are part of a larger crowd of 23 scooters riding from Coast to Coast.  I asked them to please call me during the 3 weeks trip so I could update this article.  So as you ride in your car during the next 3 weeks (Arizona, Texas, and the rest of the states that they will be going), keep your eyes open for these 23 rider; and if you see them gas station, a restaurant or where they are lodging say hi to them and talk to them.

Because I am 74 and have had several motorcycles and scooters. I would love to take a trip like this with my Tank 150cc Touring scooter. So I admire and envy these ladies. I hope they make it ok and that they have one hell of a story to tell their grandkids. More power to them.
